A planning meeting for Tour de Okinawa's Chatan aid station. Another authentic Okinawan experience is taking shape.
Do you know what we do before a cycling event even begins?
Today I had a meeting about the Chatan aid station for Tour de Okinawa.
We gathered around a table, papers spread out, talking through the details of running the aid station for the round-the-island ride.
Here's the highlight. We looked back at photos from last year's aid station.
Rows of yellow coffee vans lined up along the coast. Palm trees, blue sky, and a red-tiled promenade.
It's stylish. Every time I look at it, I think the same thing.
Chatan really does feel like a place with huge potential as a cycling tourism hub.
I'm already excited to see what kind of authentic Okinawan aid station comes together again this year.
There's still more preparation to come before race day.
Someday, let's ride this road together.
